Board Approves $101,000 for Library in 2026 Budget

At the its December meeting, the FOLL Board approved $101,000 for the library’s use in serving our community. Notable highlights include $16,000 allocated for Libby, aimed at reducing wait times for ebooks, and $8,000 for Zip Books, which will assist the library in fulfilling patron requests for physical books. November BIG Book Sale Raises $3,100

A BIG THANKS to those who donated their gently-used books, DVDs, music CDs and jigsaw puzzles over the past months and to all who purchased books and other items at our November BIG Book Sale. We raised $3,100! We also appreciate all our hardworking volunteers who process the hundreds of donations and help with the book sales. Family Art Night – Popular Event

Over 850 of our community attended the Library’s Family Art Night on October 11. This outreach event brought many new visitors who signed up for library cards, enjoyed art crafts, artist demo, face painters, balloon artist and more. Many came to view the Tiny Art submissions and take part in a free pizza meal. Thank you library staff and volunteers for your hard work to bring about this fantastic evening for our community. Event costs paid by FOLL.

Summer BIG Book Sale Raises $3,360

Thank you to all who purchased books, media and puzzles at our BIG Book Sale held on June 19. Your purchases help fund library programs and services, plus cover FOLL’s fundraising and operating costs. And a HUGH thanks to the volunteers who contributed numerous hours of their time to process donations, set up for the sale, work at the sale, and take down after. Here’s a special “shout out” to Rods and Relic whose members have faithfully helped for many years with the “heavy work” of moving carts of books to and from the sales areas. FOLL could not hold its book sales without all our wonderful volunteers.

FOLL Raises $16,000 on Big Day of Giving

During this year’s Big Day of Giving campaign, 146 donors generously gave in support of the Lincoln Public Library — the highest number of donors in FOLL’s ten year history of participating in this annual fundraising event sponsored by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Thank you. We appreciate each one of you. All donations will be used for programs, services, events and other activities offered by the Lincoln Public Library.

FOLL Holds Well-Attended Annual Meeting

Attendance at our annual membership meetings continues to grow with 34 FOLL members attending this year. The meeting held on November 23 included presentations by Library Director, Kathryn Hunt and Treasurer, Gloria Pilotti. All enjoyed lunch and an informative and entertaining presentation by Joan M. Griffin, author of Force of Nature, a book about three women who tackled the John Muir Trail.

Community Turns Out for Family Art Night

Family Art Night was a hit with our community with over 700 attendees. This FOLL-sponsored event offered art projects for all ages, face painting, caricature drawings, music and a free pizza dinner.

Lincoln Community Foundation Sponsors Family Movie Night

At FOLL’s September Board meeting, Chris Knutson and Eric Kurland from the Lincoln Community Foundation surprised FOLL with a check for Family Movie Night. This popular Lincoln Public Library program offers families a free movie-like experience on the third Saturday of each month. Thank you, Lincoln Community Foundation. And, thank you, to our FOLL Grant Director, Neil Cochran (also pictured) for his work in requesting the grant.

Lincoln Rotary Club Foundation Grant Provides Children’s Nonfiction Books

As children grow, nonfiction becomes the foundation of their background knowledge and, ultimately, a compass for defining their interests, pursuits, and goals. With the Lincoln Rotary Club Foundation’s help, the Lincoln Public Library is able to keep its children’s nonfiction collection filled with current and engaging material. Thank you, Rotary Club of Lincoln for your continued commitment to support children’s reading with this much appreciated grant to FOLL.
