Saving on Taxes – Making a Lasting Impact

IRA Donations

If you are over 70 1/2 years of age, you can make donations directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Within certain Internal Revenue Service limits, the IRA transfer will count toward your required minimum distribution, and no income tax will be due on your gift.

Contact your IRA administrator and ask to make a “qualified charitable distribution.” Provide the Friends of the Lincoln Public Library’s tax ID number (68-0089581) and address: P O Box 1177, Lincoln CA 95648.

Bequests

Planning for the future and creating the legacy you wish to leave is one of the most effective ways to ensure a lasting impact. Making a gift in your will or living trust, known as a bequest, can guarantee that your legacy endures. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or the remainder after all other provisions are specified. Consult with your legal or financial advisor for more information on legacy giving.

If you have named FOLL in your will or trust, please let us know so we can ensure that your gift is used according to your wishes. If you prefer to remain anonymous, we will keep your name and gift in strict confidence.
