You all definitely showed up for our June BIG Saturday sale! The sale brought in over $3,800 – a record for our BIG Saturday sales. Hope you enjoy your purchases over the Summer! Thank you for supporting FOLL and the Lincoln Public Library.

Our community showed its love of the Lincoln Public Library by donating to FOLL on Big Day of Giving. Their donations of $21,500 exceeded our goal of $20,000. Thank you for your support! And a BIG THANKS to our Big Day of Giving Committee – Linda Derosier, Karen Lindh and Lynne Rossi and all the other FOLL members who help during the campaign. Alone, it’s hard to make a difference, but together, we can do so much for the community!

At the March Board meeting, FOLL approved its 2025 Annual Report for release to the public. Read the report to learn about how FOLL funds and activities have served our library and community. The full report and a one-page highlights is available on the About Us page.

At the its December meeting, the FOLL Board approved $101,000 for the library’s use in serving our community. Notable highlights include $16,000 allocated for Libby, aimed at reducing wait times for ebooks, and $8,000 for Zip Books, which will assist the library in fulfilling patron requests for physical books. A BIG THANKS to those who donated their gently-used books, DVDs, music CDs and jigsaw puzzles over the past months and to all who purchased books and other items at our November BIG Book Sale. We raised $3,100! We also appreciate all our hardworking volunteers who process the hundreds of donations and help with the book sales. Over 850 of our community attended the Library’s Family Art Night on October 11. This outreach event brought many new visitors who signed up for library cards, enjoyed art crafts, artist demo, face painters, balloon artist and more. Many came to view the Tiny Art submissions and take part in a free pizza meal. Thank you library staff and volunteers for your hard work to bring about this fantastic evening for our community. Thank you to all who purchased books, media and puzzles at our BIG Book Sale held on June 19. Your purchases help fund library programs and services, plus cover FOLL’s fundraising and operating costs. And a HUGH thanks to the volunteers who contributed numerous hours of their time to process donations, set up for the sale, work at the sale, and take down after. Here’s a special “shout out” to Rods and Relic whose members have faithfully helped for many years with the “heavy work” of moving carts of books to and from the sales areas. FOLL could not hold its book sales without all our wonderful volunteers.

During this year’s Big Day of Giving campaign, 146 donors generously gave in support of the Lincoln Public Library — the highest number of donors in FOLL’s ten year history of participating in this annual fundraising event sponsored by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Thank you. We appreciate each one of you. All donations will be used for programs, services, events and other activities offered by the Lincoln Public Library.

FOLL was honored to receive the 2024 Business Excellence Award for Service Organization of the Year at the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce dinner held on February 7. Thank you to all who voted for FOLL.

Attendance at our annual membership meetings continues to grow with 34 FOLL members attending this year. The meeting held on November 23 included presentations by Library Director, Kathryn Hunt and Treasurer, Gloria Pilotti. All enjoyed lunch and an informative and entertaining presentation by Joan M. Griffin, author of Force of Nature, a book about three women who tackled the John Muir Trail.
